Srushti is preparing to take her UPSC test in her third year of studying engineering. During her graduation she was unsure if she was able to be satisfied in the engineering role. She realized later that her ideal job would be working in the civil service. She decided to pursue this. The parents of her encouraged her to concentrate on civils, and find a job serving the people. She did not lose motivation, and remained focused solely in her pursuit of becoming an IAS. In order to be a candidate for UPSC, you have to do more. When she was preparing for her engineering classes, she used to also prepare different subjects in UPSC. Each day she set aside some time to work on her preparation for the test. She prepared for engineering tests in only 1 1/2 months, and stayed away from social media and all social media sites. Her belief is that staying focused only on the work at hand is key to passing this test. Her efforts were arduous to attain her dream to pass the test on her first try. Every day, she reads papers to stay informed of the latest news. Additionally, she received a lot of online support by gathering studies materials and watching Rajya Sabha TV.
